Mellon (Gwen Vanderstraeten) has a background in animation and graphic design as well, but decided to focus all the way on illustration 5 years ago.
Since then, she has been working for a wide range of clients. Cultural and commercial, quick editorial work as well as bigger branding jobs.

She delivered work for newspapers as De Morgen & de Standaard, magazines as Focus Knack, Knack & Le Vif, organisations as Ancienne Belgique, WWF, Studio Brussel, VRT, Davidsfonds, uitgeverij Houtekiet,… Mellons style travels wide, but remains recognisable. She understands the clients needs, and manages to make the job ‘her own’.
She (almost) always starts with pencil on paper, but finishes her images in a digital environment.

You can recognise her work by the large amount of detail and bright & surreal use of colours.
