Fien Jorissen (°1994) is an illustrator, visual artist and teacher who works and lives in Antwerp, Belgium. Her work is inspired by surrealism and characterized by her multi-panel narrative observations. She has published several comics, alongside working commercially for Penguin Random House, The New York Times, The New Yorker, de Volkskrant and The Guardian (amongst others). Since 2020, she is represented by Heart Agency for commercial commissions. Her work has been exhibited internationally in New York, Marseille and Frankfurt. 

Inspired by the Japanese Shin Hanga portraits, Fien tried to incorporate her paneled style into the portrait/textile.
The title The Dawn of Day refers to the idea of a new beginning.
