About the artist
Ann Maelfeyt (45) is grafisch ontwerpster en zelfstandig vormgever van beroep. Ze behaalde haar master Beeldende Kunsten - Grafische vormgeving in Sint Lucas Gent. Met meer dan 20 jaar ervaring op de teller als art director in verschillende communicatiebureaus, focust ze sinds 2015 ook op eigen werk als zelfstandige.
Ann groeide op aan de Noordzee en is ook vandaag nog een rasechte fille du bord de mer. Ze woont met haar partner en dochters in De Haan, en sprokkelt prenten, designobjecten en andere curiositeiten als een volleerd strandjutter. Dat doet ze onder het motto ‘eyes wide open’: blijven rondkijken, alles wat je ziet kan je inspireren. ‘Ik ben als een sponsdier, dat alles om zich heen opslorpt om het in een andere vorm weer aan de wereld terug te kunnen geven.’
